Очень хочу увидеть Стамбул, но по путевке ехать намного дороже, чем на курорт. Может есть у кого опыт путешествия в Стамбул своим ходом (без путевки)? Читала, что там есть хостелы, безопасно ли там останавливаться?

В Стамбул довольно удобно ездить самостоятельно. С хостелами, правда, не знакома, но можно найти недорогие отели (я обычно смотрю на booking.com) или квартиры (на airbnb.ru). За бронь гостиницы часто даже не взимают плату заранее (но нужно внимательно смотреть условия бронирования).
Ездить совсем не страшно - авиабилеты легко покупаются онлайн - в Турции много местных авиалиний, можно выбирать и цены, и даты, и время, и аэропорты прибытия. Из аэропортов можно попасть в центр и на общественном транспорте (метро из "Ататюрка" и автобус+аром из "Сабихи").
